    Trying to roll out

For the past month my 6 month old male has done nothing, including eating, but constantly try to escape. When I try to feed him, as soon as I open the cage he sees it as an opportunity to get out. All my temps are good and the set up is good too. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this occurrence? I think he might just be real dumb or crazy!

Not normal at all. A 6 month old BP should be an eating machine!

What do you consider "good" as far as temps and setup.

Trying to escape all the time is normal, but incorrect temps and lack of security can make the snake desperate to escape and more likely to refuse food even at such a young age.

    Re: Trying to roll out

    Here is my set up:

cold side-82 with a tight hide (barely fits in)
hot side-92 with a large hide (fits in with extra room)

I use aspen or repibark depending on availability and a water dish. Humidity is 50 to 70.

Let me know what you think. The last time he ate was 3/14, so it has been almost a month.
