Thermosdat and other questions.

Yes i know what a thermosdat is, but how exactly does it work? Meaning, how do you connect it to the flexwatt?

Also, if a tank has UTH, does the air temperature not matter anymore?

The thermostat will have a power receptacle on it to plug the heat source into and also will have a temperature probe. You attach the probe to the heat source. When the heat source gets to the proper temp set on the tstat, it either adjusts power to the heat source to keep it stable (proportional type tstat) or turns it off (on/off). A proportional tstat is more accurate and keeps a more stable temperature. As far as temperatures, you want to measure the temperature where the snakes belly touches. Yes ambient is important but heat radiates and you are looking for a gradient (92-94 on the warm side, 82-84 on the cooler side). Hope this helped!
