    Ball Python Transportation

My friend will be moving from PA to MN and its about a 20 hour drive. Its going to be a straight shot, and he has a Ball Python that is about 20"

I was wondering if someone could give some advice as to good ways of transporting the snake. Thanks

    Re: Ball Python Transportation

    Here's what I would do...

I'd get a small shoe-box size sterelite box and melt a few airholes around the sides. I'd also melt some holes at the corners of the lid and corresponding holes on the box. Those are for tie-offs to make darned sure that lid isn't coming off until you're ready for it to. LOL

I would also need a pillowcase, some shredded newspaper (maybe), a handwarmer or two, and a digital thermometer.

I'd place the snake in the pillowcase, tie the top of it, and then place that in the box. Also in the box go the activated handwarmer the thermometer. If there's still extra room, use the shredded paper as filler.

And I'd test the whole thing first to make sure it doesn't get too hot and to make sure the thermometer is visible, etc.

EDIT: Once you have the snake all packed up and have hit the road, he should be fine for a day or two until you've reached your destination and can place him back in his home. If you're driving straight through, or even stopping for the night, but straight through otherwise...he'll be fine.
