pet carrier
Im going to a show this saturday, and I emailed the guy that runs it about brining Crowley in to be sexed, he said he'd do it for me (i just have to find him X_X) but im thinking "How am i going to carry crowley to a show that's an hour and a half away"
I have this from where i kept some of my pregnant mice in the past

(copied image, added text, uploaded on my photobucket)
would that work if, prehaps if i put down something. the temps are supposed to be in the 76 range (according to a friend who's going). Should we take a heat pack or the like?

I'd clean it good! Ouch, "smelt like a mouse, tastes like human" LOL. I'd bring a hand warmer or two (one for the way back).

Re: pet carrier
I picked up some Sterilite totes at Dollar General - I think they were $2 or $3 each, and soldered some holes in them and put aspen in the bottom. Perfect for the "kids". The vet is literally 2 miles from me, so I didn't use supplemental heat - however, when I took them to the GA breeder's facility for sexing, it was a cooler day and I had four traveling. Started the car and got the heat going on the floorboard - did some measuring with an AccuRite and some fiddling with the heat to get it "just right" and set all four tubs on the passenger side floorboard with the heat going. Worked pretty well for something "jerry rigged".

Re: pet carrier
Remember a pillowcase! You can use that, but be sure to place the snake in a pillowcase first, and then pack some newspaper balls around the snakebag. He will feel more secure being transported that way

Re: pet carrier
I have some "homemade" snake pet carriers I use......went AC moore/Michaels, both craft stores and got two of those plastic toolbox/craftbox things with a handle, drilled some holes in em, put a couple hand warmers in, a layer of bedding, and viola! And since the plastic is colored and not clear, I think It makes the traveling a little less stressful for the snakes. I also have another plastic play toolbox type thing from Little Tykes that I transformed into a snake carrier as well....It's my fave one, cause It's quite roomy, even for my biggest girl plus the fact that it's got a snap-lock and made of bright blue plastic....I covered it with snake stickers for extra snake appeal... !
