Warnings/Reputations

Has there been any thought of using the warning system module that I believe is part of this BB software? Also, I remember some old threads on reputation points. I know that you can add to peoples reps but what about showing the rep points next to the users posts? Just wondering...

If you hover your cursor over the little green square under the "joined" date...it will tell you the general range of a person's rep. Personally I think that's plenty. The rep system is something that should be used sparingly and carefully, as it is an easy system to abuse.

I have an acount on a BB software website as well and yes they can show the rep points and use the warning system. I think it might be a good idea as well but they might be keeping it from veiw to keep things neutral. I personally enjoy knowing Rep scores so you know who has been here and really contributed to the sites knowledge for everyone.

If you mouse over the green box, it gives you a little "saying" that goes with a persons rep point value. We chose not to "show" the actual number because we feel that is a good way for a person to self correct/self police based on the actual numbers they can see in their control panel. Currently, we feel our rep system has been working out just great actually, it is not over used, and it still gets used enough to make it a useful resource. However, Admins and Staff will keep in mind your suggestion about the numbers showing, and should we ever feel the system needs a bit of tweaking, we will take that into consideration also. Thanks for taking the time to tell us your feelings on the subject!
