Yeah he ate off the tongs
Well Mufasa has been a perfect eater since X-mas now. But I never got him to eat off the tongs. If he was out when I fed him ihe would kinda fear strike, I would drop it then eat it. But he did this without ever doing that classic wrapping motion. If he was in his hide, I would just put it infront of his hide and he would eat it in 20 mins or so. But last night he finally ate straight off the tongs, wrapped it, and ate it. My corn is another story, he is an awful winter feeder, I htink I have to go back to mice w/ him. How many of your BP's eat right off the tongs?

Re: Yeah he ate off the tongs
I feed our BP live with tongs (Carmen isn't going to eat yet with her poo-gurge-whatever thing); I hold the mouse at the base of the tail on a piece of cardboard that has been placed in her cage. The mouse is usually more concerned about me holding it and doesn't notice the hungry-hungry snake looming in for the strike. =)
0.1 ball python (Cleo), 0.1 surinam bcc (Carmen)
1.0 sunglow motley corn (Jenson), 1.0 albino burmese (Lourdes)
1.0 cat (Nicky), some mooses and ratters, 1.0 hubby (Rick)

Just out of curiosity - why do you hold the live mouse? I just drop them in the opposite end of the tank, no restraints - and the snakes take care of the rest.

Re: Yeah he ate off the tongs
It was a recommendation I got from a fellow herper/shopper where I buy my mousies and it's been working...I guess we could drop them in as well. We have a lot of "stuff" in Cleo's cage, so guess I want to control over the mouse.
Although, it was pretty funny during one feed, Cleo was still in her hide (hadn't smelled the mouse yet) and the mouse got away from me and ran past the opening of her hide. She poked her head out like "hello dinner!"
