    Question about weight of bp's

I recently took my bp to the vet and he weighed in at 840 grams and was given a clean bill of health by the vet. When I brought up the fact I thought he was thin/underweight my vet said everything appeared to be good and he had no concerns.

But I read on here where folks bp's go 1000-2000grams and wonder why the difference? My bp is about 2.5 yrs old and about 4' long. I do know he only eats mice and goes on his hunger strike evey winter but eats well the rest of the time.

Can anyone enlighten me or why the big differences in weight or am I just being silly.

    Thanks!

Are you keeping things in relative perspective? Is your comparison identical to your situation? Food for thought.

Re: Question about weight of bp's

Yes folks I know have 2-3 yo bp's that weigh much more than mine.

Adam I did think that was a factor as females tend to be bigger. I noticed that in the difference of Ozzy and Osiris, especially when you informed me Osiris was a female and Ozzy the male.

Are bp's like dogs/cats as some tend to be runts ???

There are runts born all the time ... but by the time that they are a few years old you can't tell the difference.

It all works out over time ... a 2.5 year old is really just a baby when you think about the potential for him to live 40+ years.

In another 5 or 6 years, weigh your snake again ... you won't be concerned.

How big can a male bp get in terms of length and weight and do they keep growing their entire lives or do they stop at some point?
