Snake giving me false signs and acting weird

About 3 or MAYBE 4 weeks ago my snake shed. Two days ago she popped back out with superdull skin and alot of grey showing like she was going to shed again and also blue eyes. The eyes went away. I kept watching her and now shes no as dull anymore...she somewhat shiny again....It's so weird

Her ski also seems Dry to me. She has ALOT of very rough scales on her sides. Just the other day she was very smooth. I put her in a water tank for a little while today to see if that would help

Also....she has not pooped in a week now. Ever since her first shed she hasnt pooped like she was doing on a regular basis. I fed her last tuesday and still nothing.

    I'm getting a little worried

Re: Snake giving me false signs and acting weird

Seems pretty normal to me. Most of my snakes shed monthly. As often as every two weeks occasionally, but that's usually baby colubrids that do that.

It is normal for the snake to look dull and grey first, then look almost normal for a day or two before actually shedding. She feels rough most likely because your humidity is too low and the shed isn't coming off. Make sure during shedding times your humidity is around 70% and 50-60% at normal times. To help her shed, soak her in shallow warmish water for an hour or so and stick a towel in the water tub with her for her to rub on too.

Snakes don't poop that often.. my dumerils boa didn't poop for 4 months after I got her. Again though.. make sure humidity levels are correct and make sure she has fresh water at all times.

    SHE SHED TODAY

Yeah this is my second shed with her. It was just REALLY diffrent this time. Last shed she was very gray and superdull up until point of shed. This time she was back to colors so it confused me.

Her humidty is usually between 50 and 70% but often falls to 20 when im not home as im not here to spray it down, and cant seem to keep humity in.

I soaked her last night when she felt dry for about 10minutes.

Thats weird about pooping though. Before her first shed with me she would eat and 3 days later do her buisness everytime like clock work.

OH, and this shed makes the other look bad. Way shinnier then last time and again in another whole piece.

Glad she shed well for you. If you're using a tank with a screen lid, consider covering most of it with plastic wrap, or contact paper etc. Keeps humidity in. Also consider a humid hide. It's basically a plastic container with a hole cut in the side that has some damp moss inside. If you do a search on here, you'll come up with several threads.

I like the humdity hid eidea. I'm already covering it 1/2 up with aluminum foil but still cant keep any in. Thanks for the tips
