    Jo the Reluctant Snow Bunny!

Well we had only a bit of snow left a couple of days ago. This is what's come down in less than 48 hours and they say we may get 3 to 4 more days of heavy snow and high winds. I actually tried to take a picture out of my window awhile ago but it was just white out conditions (you couldn't see that blue storage shed it was so bad). It's cleared for a moment so here's a shot of "lovely" northern Michigan...BLECH!

On the upside the propane truck made it down our road so we are toasty warm!

Whew that's quite a load of snow. It's pretty, but I hate winter.

Just the other day we had thunder snow! then it was raining hail-like sleet. Quite a storm.

For some reason I was expecting to see you on skis LOL!

It's awesome to have that snow - we hardly ever get much in the UK any more - and the odd bit we do get everything just comes to a standstill. You could make lots of snow-lizards with that lot (funny how everything I think of gets transformed into a herp thing)

It is pretty if it would only stop so they could at least decently plow LOL. Actually I'm just looking out that same window I took that picture out of like 15 minutes ago...it's started up again so I can barely see across the yard

Heck no Raz! No way am I going out in that mess! The winds are so high that temps adjusted for the wind chill factor are keeping me and mine tucked warm inside.

However, according to the news well over 100,000 people in the State of Michigan are without power due to this wicked storm so we feel blessed really. Very worried for those poor folks facing this kind of deep cold without electrical service though.

WOW:eek:. We are getting some winter hints here in TX, but nothing to the likes of that!! That's the main reason why I left N.Y. and moved to the south. Looks pretty in pics, not in my front yard LOL....

    Stay warm!!!!

Re: Jo the Reluctant Snow Bunny!

I saw on the news that some parts of New York state are getting hit really hard too. As long as we don't have any trees come down on the lines we should be okay but I've got the oil lamp ready and my instant heat packs for the snakes just in case.

Gawd help us if the power goes out though! The US men's hockey team are playing this afternoon. If Mike misses that I'm gonna have to plug the kid's ears fast! LOL

Its funny you mention "heat packs". When bad weather strikes here its the usual flooding, no power, etc....

At work we were clearing out some old server rooms and I came across a few Uninteruptable Power Suppy units (UPS). I use these guys with the BP's. In the event we loose power the UPS' keep the snakes warm. Nothing like having a contingency plan huh LOL....

And funny YOU should mention that too, ARamos! I just had a meeting with the VP of Oneac on Tuesday, and I was asking them - so which one should I buy if I want to keep continuous power in the event of a power outage? He asked what for and when I told him, their response was "we thought you were normal!!!!" LOL

One of the guys leaned back in his chair and grinning with his hands behind his back said "so, you're into herps huh? That's cool!" He gave me some gadget (not sure what it's called) to take home with me, plug into the wall outlet, the plug the thermostat into and measure the amps and watts that it's pulling and they'll recommend a UPS that will suit my needs. One of them mouthed to me behind the others' backs that he'd send it to me for free! Can't beat free!
