Winter Olympics 2006
So is everyone else glued to their TV's right now? Already it's been a very interesting, exciting and touching Olympics for me.
Watching Michelle Kwan's grace as she stepped down, apparently making the decision at 3 a.m. after re-injuring her groin during a practise skate, really touched me. For a skater of her experience and age, who fought to be on the team due to missing Nationals, knowing this would be her last chance for Gold....I just cannot imagine how hard that decision was for her. I just watched her interview and her words about putting her country and her team ahead of herself brought a lump to my throat. This, at least in my mind, makes her an olympic champion, gold medal or not.
What happened with Bode Miller? Couldn't believe where he placed!
Can you all believe Shaun White aka The Flying Tomato! He blows me away and I'm not really even into snowboarding but his almost wipe-out when his board came down and touched the top of the pipe was scarey stuff! I literally closed my eyes expecting this 19 year old to wipe out badly and be hurt. What an amazing young man....athletic...composed....impressive! I'm not big into X-treme sports but I love seeing some of them make it to Olympic status.
So what are you all watching? cheering for?

Re: Winter Olympics 2006
I will only be watching the womens and mens hockey and the male figure skater Johnny Weir aka Johnny Weird.
The Olympics gives me the chance to finally get to see a bit of the ladies play hockey.
GO USA!

My favorites to watch are snowboarding, figure skating, luge/bobsled/skeleton (can you imagine how awesome that'd be to do?!) and ski jumping.
I just love the olympics.

Robin! You need a life! Step away from the snakes! Do not I repeat do not put one more breeder site on your favorites list! LOL
It's fun having the two countries to cheer for Daniel until they are in direct competition for a medal...then it's soooooooooo hard to pick!
Oh April, Mike would love you LOL. He's always wanting to luge or ski jump or whatever those crazy atheletes do that scares the living beejeezus outta me!

Figure skating here. I like ballet too, and it's more or less ballet on ice so yay! I'm not a very sporty individual, so it's the best I can do, lol.
