Reading Material
Okay, so what with the weather the way it's been (really frickin' COLD), and with my friends being so busy, I've been reading a lot lately. I'm always looking for a new book to keep my interests... the last few things I've read:
Dragon Champion by E.E. Knight
The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown
Lilith's Brood (A series of three books, "Dawn", "Adulthood Rites", and "Imago") by Octavia Butler
The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien
As you can tell, I've been into Sci-fi and Fantasy lately, but I'll read a little bit of anything.
So, help me out... what should I read next? What are you guys reading currently?

Re: Reading Material
Kite Runner, Wicked, and I just started Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. (Sorry I couldn't remember the other authors, my memory for names is like a sieve.)

Re: Reading Material
The Dragonlance Chronicles is a great trilogy you should check that out. It's followed by two more great trilogies - Dragonlance Tales, and Dragonlance Legends.
The Death Gate Cycle - 7 books I think, pretty good.

Re: Reading Material
Just got done with Joe R Lansdale's Hap and Leonard series. Righteous. He's the guy who wrote "Bubba Ho-Tep" for the uninitiated. The came the upgrade and books on PHP and :blah:. You ever read any Stephen R. Donaldson? If not give Lord Foul's Bane a shot for some antihero goodness.
Hands down though the best read I've come across in the past decade is Lethem's "Motherless Brooklyn" (tourette's stream-of-consciousness p.i. meets zen) - I can't reccomend that one highly enough. This guy can write
"I don't FEEL tardy . . ."

Re: Reading Material
My favorite book recently was Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett, which is a fictionalized story about the building of a cathedral @ 1100 AD in England. Fat book, but I love those...great story.
Right now I'm read The Life of Elizabeth I by Alison Weir. Not really a page turner, but interesting. =)
Rick keeps trying to get me to read Dragonlance, but I just can't seem to get into them...I'll keep trying tho. =)
*edit*
Ooh, I agree, Kite Runner was really good.

Re: Reading Material
I would have to say that I also love the Sillmarilion. One of my other favorite that I would recommend if you liked The DaVinci Code is "Angels and Demons" also by Dan Brown. Also, I'm a big Chuck Palahniuk fan, so if you liked Fight Club, I recommend either Choke, or Inivisible Monsters. All very good reads.
