    Should i move up a notch ?

Tomorrow is going to be my third feeding under my care. Shes been eating 2/2.5" mice with no problem she herself is around 15" in length, there are pics in my photobucket. I feed live so i was wondering do you think it would be ok to feed 2 mice instead of one? If so, how would I do it dump both of them in or have her kill one and then put the other one in before she eats the first kill?

Why would you think she needs to eat 2 mice in one sitting? She looks plenty healthy to me. IMHO, I say pace youself (and Eve) and let her give you the signs she is still actively looking for more food.

based on the photos it doesn't look like she needs 2 mice per feeding right now. once she is ready for a bigger meal though, just drop in 1 mouse at a time. let her finish the first one completely before putting in another.

I would try moving onto rats , be better in the long run than trying to feed 2 or 3 mice even more when there bigger .

And why feeding live ???? they can be weaned onto frozen and more humane ??

    John,

Feeding live is just as humane as feeding f/t. Many of us here do feed live - it's really the keeper's choice what works best for them. If done correctly, feeding live is just as safe as feeding f/t.

unless your ball is an agressive eater (unlike most ball pythons) you should not risk feading it a live rat or mouse because than you are risking injury of your BP!

Live feeding is just as safe if done correctly. I'll let someone else explain further since I'm sneaking a peek right now during work!

As Robin said, we like to respect each person's right to decide what works best for them and their snake. Each has inherit risks, and you can kill your snake if you do not properly thaw your food. When done responsibly, feeding live can work out fine but you need to research on the most responisible way to feed, no matter what you feed. This is a very touchy subject so let's tread lightly here ok?

Re: Should i move up a notch ?

It may be as simple as if you feed live, supervise (and make SURE you're not introducing a hungry rat) - and if you feed f/t - thaw completely - and if you feed pk . . clean up after yourself
