    Cleaning old Cages

I have a 10g that Im going to put my new gecko in, but I never did really clean it out after the gerbils died in it. How would you clean it to make sure nothing bad is in it. I have some chlorohexadrine.

Chlorhexadrine would work well. Make sure you scrub the tank, too, to remove any trace of feces or urine.

    Here's what I do ...

Wash the cage thoroughly with warm soapy water and allow to dry ... submerse the entire cage into a diluted chlorohexadrine or bleach solution and soak for 20-30 minutes .... remove, rinse, and allow to air dry completely.

This process will clean and then disinfect the enclosure.
