    Your ultimate BP/herp goals..

    What are they?
My goal is to breed. I have one female and three males. I plan on breeding my female to the new male I got; they both have reduced patterns and I can't wait to see if this is genetic. I plan on getting ONE more female, which gives me a little happiness for the future; something to lok forward to, you know?
I have one male BCI; I plan on breeding him to my friend's female when he is big enough.
This is it; how about your plans?
-Jen. Back in the hobby after a hiatus!

    Re: Your ultimate BP/herp goals..

I would like to breed myself.

I have Kashmire who is thought to be male, but I'm going to have him sexed to make sure, and in two weeks will be receiving three new girls.

My plans are to get 4 het boys (hypo, pied, caramel and clown) by the end of this summer and continue adding girls as money and space permits.

I'm going the long way with recessives, but I've got more time than money right now! LOL

    Re: Your ultimate BP/herp goals..

My plans are very long-term...as in maybe a decade down the road. SOMEday, when my hubby retires and we settle down long-term somewhere, we plan on getting a home with enough property to keep horses and to build me a "snake house" so I can collect whatever animals I'd like, without my husband having to fret about them being in the house we live in. LOL

When that time comes, I'd like to build a collection of beautiful and interesting non-venomous snakes, as well as have a BP breeding project (both for the joy of it, and to help fund the snake-habit!). I imagine, when the time comes, I will choose two or three of my favorite morphs to focus on, rather than trying to breed every color of the rainbow. ;-) I would love, at that time, to be able to use the snakes for educational purposes, teaching children and adults alike how to love these amazing animals.

Sometime before then, when all the kids are fully settled in school and don't need me 24/7 like they do now...I'd really like to go to back to school and study to be a vetrinary assistent or something along those lines...and either work with a vet who welcomes exotic pets, or work in a zoo or similar place that keeps reptiles.

    Those are my herp-dreams. :-)

my ultimate goal with my bp is just to give him a warm secure enviroment that he can thrive and live on long life in. possibly breed him once or twice with my friend's bp (both normals). maybe/ maybe not get another snake or two, but right now i'm more focused on giving the best care/enviroment possible for basill.

Ultimately, I would like to get a couple more snakes, including another ball, and perhaps do some breeding. I need to build a herp room of some sort before I think about any additions to the family, however.

    Re: Your ultimate BP/herp goals..

Well I aready ordered an 05 het albino pair. I can breed them hopefully 2007 and have an albino or too in 2008. With this albino I will probably trade it for a another albino that is unrelated. This summer I will buy another female of too to breed this year at the reptile show. So I will have 2.3 w/ 1.1 of those being het albino. I am also going to start breeding my crested as soon as he gets big enough, this summer I will get him a mate and breed them by winter. Those are my plans. I will probably not start selling my albinos/ or hypos if I trade til 2010 that way I will still have 2-3 pairs of them.

1.6 BP 1.1 het albino BP 1.0 Creamsicle Corn 1.0 Viper Gecko 1.1 Crested Gecko 0.1 Leopard Gecko 0.0.3 D. leucs 0.0.2 D. tincs Cobalt 0.0.4 Baby Eastern Box Turtles

I guess Jen and I are somewhat the same. I'd like to breed my new female that has a bit of reduced pattern with her BP Ashes who also has some reduced pattern. They both are beautiful and will probably pump out some awesome babies.

As for down the road, I'd like to get either a Burmese Python, an Anaconda, or a Retic. I love big snakes and am fascinated by them but obviously don't have the space for them. Hopefully I will someday after college!

School wise...a major in Anthropology with a concentration on using snakes and reptiles in various religious ceremonies throughout the world. My major flucuates between Zoology and Herpetology to the one stated before.

Talking Re: Your ultimate BP/herp goals..

The plan is quite simple actually. A pastel pair with hopes of a Super. The Super will be a keeper and will have a new mate on its way. At that point if I choose to breed the original pair again then so be it, but the Super and new friend will definitely spend some time in the same tank.

The goal is to only keep 2 (pairs) and sell the clutches to continue to fund the hobby. My kids will either get involved and learn something or just be plain grossed out and scared. LOL. Besides, it seemed like it took an act of congress to pass the "OK honey, you can keep snakes again" bill. I don't want to push my luck.

    Tony...
