    help me decide???

I am about to order some Frozen Mice or rats online but i am unsure on which to get. Right now my BP is feeding on 1 adult mouse every 7 days and its time to bump up the food size. At first i was considering switching to rats and purchasing some hoppers which range from 30 - 60 g. however i am also considering staying on mice. i may purchase adult mice that are around 26 g and hoppers which are 12 - 16 g. Then feed 1 adult and one hopper mouse every 7 days. That would garranty me a meal size of about 35 - 40g, and if i was to go with only rats, i am worried that too many may be closer to the 60 g size. I am not trying to decide if mice are better than rats, so dont go down that road. also, the price isnt an issue because the price for a hopper rat is the same as buying 1 adult and 1 hopper mouse. what would u do. i am leaning towards staying with the mice.

    Re: help me decide???

Personally I'd stay with what works for your BP, especially this time of year when a few of them are quite picky about eating. If you want to move to rats at some point (your choice really as both are fine to feed) then try it first before ordering in bulk is my thought.

You found a good supplier for frozen did you?

just curious, but what do u guys pay for a frozen adult mouse in the USA? I have payed as much as 3.50 for a Frozen mouse at a local pet shop but i can get them online for 0.85. Thats Cadaian dollars.

    Re: help me decide???

I used www.themousefactory.com when I was feeding frozen thawed and if memory serves I was buying smalls and weans back then and paying around $1.50 shipped per rat (that would be shipped overnight express from Texas to nothern Michigan). Could be a bit off on that estimate but it's been months since I did an order with them but I remember it being much cheaper than the $4.99 per rat my local pet store charges!

I could have gotten it even cheaper but back then I didn't have an extra freezer so had to go with small orders rather than getting the bigger bulk discounts they offer.
