    Great news!!!

I just got back from the pet shop where I got my female and ive been trying to breed her to 3 different males and none would ever breed so today we were in there and they told us that the guy who sold the snakes to the shop said that her and a Axanthic male were breeding like crazy in December. They showed us the male today and he is in fact an Axanthic (sold to the guy as one from a breeder) but the male also has a spot on his back that is pure white? It doesnt look like a scar it looks like a pied spot on his back so who knows. Im keeping my fingers crossed and hopeing that she is gravid from the male. I have pics of the male but it will be later before I can post them.

That just doesn't sound legit to me. If it pans out, that's great, but I'd be a bit more wary. I think I remember seeing pics of that girl, and she was awfully thin. Even if she's been bred, she may not have enough stored fat to produce viable eggs. I'm really not trying to rain on your parade, but I would definitely wait to see if you get some good eggs before you get too excited. Soooo many things can happen. Best of luck though. That would be cool.

Didn't you just get her a few weeks ago? Since you've already tried breeding her with three males I'm guessing that you decided not to quarantine her first?

Just because she's 3500g+ doesn't automatically make her a good breeder. I hope she does produce some nice babies for you. That would rock. I was just trying to urge you to be more cautious in your optimism. Good luck.

    Re: Great news!!!

They were holding her for us for a while, like a quarentine somewhere a few miles away. Im still not 100% sure she bred with the male but that is what they told me, she also starting a shed cycle so Im keeping my fingers crossed, if she isnt gravid oh well I theres always next year. Her belly is felling hard and I thought I felt a lump, this is my first time breeding so Im just really nervous about everything.

    Re: Great news!!!

sometimes it's hard to tell from pics, but in person there should be no yellow anywhere if it's an axanthic.
