    probably a stupid question

i know this sounds like a stupid question but i really want to know the answer...

i have a cage that was used as a fish tank, then a frog enclosure, then a fire belly toad enclosure, then for a fence lizard, then me and my dad made a lid for it to house reptiles and i housed vanessa in it for a month or so, and since that it's housed approximitely 4 rats (all at different times) in the last 2 months. my question is this: will i be able to get it completely disinfected and bacteria/germ free? i've already disinfected it twice, rinsed it, then squirted (and wiped) it with an organic cleaning spray.

the reason i want to know is because i already have 200 dollars and my mom said if i can afford it i can ge an ackie if im good (im thinkin i need about 30-50 more dollars more for equipment/taxes). I CAN'T WAIT!!!

    Re: probably a stupid question

Yeah sure you can. Either 10% bleach solution, or chlorhexadine will do the trick. Just rinse it real good.

That's so cool you're getting an ackie! I'd love to have one.

    Re: probably a stupid question

i would like to get a red, but im goin with a yellow. they're way less espensive and i've been reading they are generally smaller and less aggressive. it could be as late as july until i get one, but i dont care as long as i get one. lol.

thanks justcage. i think its really clean now. i cleaned with 2 different all purpose cleaner like 10 times and rinsed it after each one. im gonna let it sit for awhile now.
