HI all,
I just wanted to share that in the past month I underwent a job change...
I stopped working with the CT Humane Society for a few reasons, and after thinking long and hard about it and with the help of my husband, I decided it was better to leave. I was actually very happy, (I remembered what being happy was again) about two days after leaving. So I was and still am very confident with that decision.
But as some of you know I am the main working person in our houshold, so being out of work for too long wasn't really an option. I started looking around at different vet hospitals, but in the meantime we were invited to have a presentation at a local (mom & pop) aquatic fish store. It was their big grand opening weekend. You can find pictures in my yahoo album if your interested:

The owner (Derek) was very nice and had heard I was out of work. He asked for my resume and I reluctantly gave him a copy. I really, (I MEAN REALLY) did not want to go back into retail. But seeing as he offered a really good salary (best pay I have actually ever gotten) and he has a really good work ethic, I soon became his right hand man. He desperetly needed a manager, and someone to get his new store organized. So it has actually been alot of fun. The guys I work with are all very nice. It is just fish, and some marine inverts. He is really big into captive bred animals, ecspecialy when it comes to marine. I have been really thrilled in realizing he has alot of the same ideas and ethics as I do.
Anyhow, just wanted to share. If anyone keeps fish please let me know what kind. We have always kept fish, but of course secondary to the herps.
I have been learning alot more abou the aquatic industry, and I can tell you it is just as adicting as herps!!
(I think that rescue we did that included to two Pacu may have spurred some of this..lol)
Thanks
Rusty
