    Abnormal scales

Any thoughts on what these little "notches" are? The almost look like missing scales or just a TINY gap between scales. They persist between sheds (or at least I find some after shed)

Folded scales. The scales are soft enough that when your snake curls up for a while, some scales just get compressed & folded under. Pretty normal, especially on snakes whose scales aren't keeled (or thicker & tougher).

If you doubt this, just cut out some paper "scales", glue them onto your arm, & fold your elbow for a while.

Perhaps that's a new career idea for someone? "Snake groomer" -to unfold all those pesky imperfect scales.

If you gently rub the folded scales they will usually go back to normal I see these all the time on my albino BP, I think they are especially visible on light-coloured snakes.

Cue a bunch of off topic threads titled 'How do I get glue off my arm?!?!?!'.

Had to laugh at the visual I got from this comment. Keeper's SO walks into the reptile room, keeper is covered in paper circles and flapping like a chicken. Thanks for that.

Sounds like maybe you have some experience with this?
