    Eating

What size mice should feed a baby ball (hopper, adult).

Also i just wanted to add in that i Live in Barrie a big place north of toronto Canada and In barrie Pythons in general are Illegal!! This was up-setting cause i really enjoy this snake and i have a local reptile store hear that told me this. I am getting a bp anyway cause the guy at the reptile store is ordering me one. I think there illegal cause the name "python".

    Re: Eating

I thought Canadian laws only prohibited species that exceed 10'? Maybe that is nationally - I am sure just like here local laws vary and can be more restrictive. If the guy at the pet store is openly ordering you one I wouldnt think they are illegal.

How "baby" is the baby? Find a mouse that is about the same girth (thickness) as the thickest part of the BPs body. Rats work just fine too.

    Re: Eating

I found this link for you. At the bottom are two phone numbers you can try to find out exactly what the law is for Barrie as I don't understand a pet store ordering you in a snake that is illegal for that community and and quite possibly get you in trouble as well as the snake being seized and possibly euthanized. I'd encourage you to think long and hard about the reprecussions to the ball python if it is in fact illegal to own and word gets out you have one.

Apparently these folks also run a store front operation so perhaps a visit to them to discuss local bylaws would be in order. You can also ask for a reading or copy of the applicable local bylaw from the Bylaw Enforcement Office (there number is also on this link at the bottom).

i know this guy and hes getting my a nice albino from the states. Hes like doing it under the table i checked the law and it says all pythons and boas are illegal. It is a small town and i don't think that anyone will rat on me. My closet neighbor has a bp and hes the one that got me interested. I don't really know exaclty wut will happen but it is my resposalibity. I don't think that it is a big deal or anything

    Re: Eating

Just make sure you are getting an albino ball python (about $2000 US) and not an albino burm ($150-$300 US)....Alot of people make that mistake. To some they may look very similar as babies....but as adults there can be a 15 foot difference in size. Just offering some advice....and It really would be good to find out local laws before purchasing....I know of several breeders in Canada so the law may only be local.

Listen to da man. It will be kind of hard to hide a 15-20' Burmese - in fact at maturity it would be pretty difficult to maintain on your own regardless.
