    UTH Probe placement problem

    Hi,
I have a small heatmat for a hotspot in my enclosure. But I can't put the thermostat probe between the underside of my tank and the heatmat. This creates a pocket full of air where the heatmat does not touch the bottom of the enclosure therefore not distributing heat to the bottom.
Can I tspe the probe to the other side of the heat mat which does not toch the enclosure?

Yes. Just bear in mind that the probe temp may differ quite a bit from the floor surface temp, so use an IR thermometer or temperature gun to measure the floor temp over the heat pad.
