    Fasting question?

I was told about 4 months ago that a male BP will fast for the winter but a female BP wont. Is that true or will they either fast or not? All of my BP are still eating and have not missed a meal since the weather turned cooler. I know not to worry about them not eating since my 3 year old wc fasted for 10 months when I first got him. I was just curious about the fasting thing.

    Re: Fasting question?

it all depends ... if you have a good control on your environment, you can avoid fasting all together ... this past Monday was a slaughter at my place when I feed everyone ... every single snake at and practically jumped out of their boxes for the food.

Sexually mature males are probably more sensitive to variations in their environment and will sometimes go off food easier than females.

But, fasting isn't a given with ball pythons.
