    Angry Not so Charmed

So, I'm flipping through the channels today and what do I see? An episode of Charmed (an old one), and the camera is panning back and forth between Piper and a beautiful Boa. I stop to check out the snake.

Then of couse she notices the snake and everyone freaks out like even if it did bite her it would be some kind of big deal. This irrates me but I don't change the channel just yet, I wish I had.

Not only are the girls freaking out like the snake is venomous or something but then to my horror one of them grabs a shovel and cuts it's head off! And now I'm really ticked off and start pointing out everything that is so wrong and stupid about he whole scenero (good thing my hubby has a lot of patience with my little rants).

I know its just TV but man I just hate misinformation.

    Re: Not so Charmed

I have to agree. It's one thing when a purely entertainment type program does something stupid but I regularily see things on Animal Planet that get my knickers in a knot.

I was watching this show today about backyard habitats and they were going to include something for the local ratsnakes. Well on comes a person holding a big ratsnake and she wasn't too bad but the commentator was more like it was some big deal to care about snakes as much as the birds and so forth and putting up "predator" guards.

Sorry but if I'm going to build a more natural backyard so my kids can see nature at work then part of nature is the predator/prey interaction. No "guards" in my yard thanks!

we welcome spiders and bugs into our yard... we are as organic as possible given our neighbours spray pesticides like it's cotton candy around their yard

but at least we know we aren't adding to that cycle.
