    Question Feeding in shed

I was wondering how many of you feed in shed???? I heard it depends on the snake , some do some won't.

    Re: Feeding in shed

We offer the same day every week, whether they are in shed or not...if they want it, they take it...if they don't, they wait till feeding day the next week. The majority of our snakes do eat during almost any stage of shed, but if they occasionally refuse during shed we don't sweat it.

I just got done feeding my bp, and his eyes went blue yesterday. He doesn't get it on the first time when he is like this, but he still eats.

    Re: Feeding in shed

It realy just depends on the snake, my girl has never refused a meal whether in shed or not, last week she ate her first pk rat, while in blue.

Well I tried both , the female took care of business the male didn't.My dumeril boa never feeds in shed I tried to give her the extra pup and nothing. This is my first shed with the bp's, I've had my boa for about a year.

I think I'm lucky, but nothing, just nothing, will put my girl off her food. She'll even "perform feed" in the middle of the living room carpet in front of an audience - she'll still do it

    Re: Feeding in shed

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. It depends on the situation and the snake. My Female IJCP and two of my baby balls will not eat while in shed.

I've fed my adult black blood in shed before, but I'd really perfer not to. With a snake her size, I'd prefer that she can see what she's going for

    Re: Feeding in shed

I just fed my 3 today. The females eyes blued yesterday and she at her 2 mice. the first one she bit right on the butt and ended up eating it butt first! She kept trying to get the thing sorted out but she seemed to get frustrated and just swallowed it backwards. Im just glad that it was smaller than usual.
