    10 days since hatching- umbilical cord opening still has not healed, looks inflamed?

    The issue is in the title... The 2nd bp hatchling (who seemed to come out of the egg a bit early) had the tiny yolk still attached when she hatched. The yolk immediately broke off though.

    Now 10 days later, the spot on the umbilical cord still hasn't sealed, and it has been a little red and inflamed looking that hasn't recovered... The other hatchling's already sealed completely. The middle part almost looks like a scab, except it hasn't changed in appearance.

    Has anyone experienced this and what might help it recover and seal? What causes it to prevent it in the future?

    The baby is due to shed probably in around 3-4 days from now.
