Small red patch after shed
So Luna shed out last night and this morning when I was unrolling the shed to check for eye caps and tail tip and all that fun stuff (all in tact), I noticed what looked like a bit of dried blood between some of the scales in a little patch.
I immediately got her out to check her over. The first thing I checked was her cloaca, which looked fine, but about a third of the way up her body, I found a little red patch.
The scales there look a little roughed up and creased. I'm thinking maybe she scraped herself on something during the shed.
It doesn't look too bad, but would you all recommend putting anything on it? I have some regular non-pain relief neosporin. I've heard people reccomend veterycin? I don't know, what do you think? It's a bit hard to see in the pic because of her pattern but it looks a bit more pink in person.
Thank you!

Re: Small red patch after shed
And before everyone asks (lol)
I use UTH, regulated w/ thermostat. Measure temperatures with an IR thermometer, max temp on floor of enclosure(under substrate) is 91°. I use a mix of eco earth and cypress mulch for substrate. There are a few small rocks in her enclosure as well as her stone water bowl. Hides and plants are plastic.

I think we can eliminate the possibility of a bad shed then. You seem like a good keeper but I just want to make sure, what are your temps at? Are they regulated?
Nevermind, you beat me to it. Where is the thermostat probe?

Sandwiched between the uth and the bottom of the tub.
I dont thinks it's a burn. If it was on her belly maybe, but it's like on her side sort of. It looks like an abrasion to me

I'd leave it alone...it's barely visible in photo, but I see some bent scales that suggest it's just a little scrape. Topical ointments won't do anything for unbroken skin, other
than make substrate stick to the scales. Don't bother. Might try to ascertain how it happened though...you aren't using any sort of cage decor like those skulls that snakes
can get stuck in the eye-sockets (as they grow), I hope? Or driftwood that has a similar restrictive opening that a snake might try to get thru?

Yeah, it's barely noticeable. I'm just making sure.

Nothing with any openings, she just has her two RB hides (the black box kind) a plastic pothos vine, and a few small rocks. Her water bowl is also stone. My best guess is she rubbed too hard against one of the stones in there.
Thank you both!!

Re: Small red patch after shed
Just thought I would quickly update, I went to check on her injury tonight and it appears to have healed. I couldn't find it on her at all!
Thank you again!
