    My male would do that with his water bowl! I bought one of those dog bowls that are hollow underneath with cutouts on the sides, to do double duty- water bowl and hide! Well, it worked great for about ten months, and then he got too big to actually fir underneath, but insisted on going there anyway. You could definitely tell he was under it, 'cause it looked like it was floating!!
