I just caught that news article, It looks to me like the turkey is just following him around
dude should take some dried corn on his route and feed the turkey, he'd have a friend for life I bet

Yeah, I wondered if the turkey would try to attack if the carrier had to get out to go to the door? But as it was, he didn't look that ferocious, pretty cute actually. 
But caution- wild turkeys can seriously hurt you! Ever see that PBS special "My life as a turkey"? About a guy documenting himself as part of a flock. Seriously. 
Later on [spoiler alert] one of the males decided he was a rival & got pretty savage! After being "buddies" for a long time.

Hey fred just called and said he can’t make it to work today, he said he got jumped by a pack of turkeys and got his butt whooped. Lmao

Yeah it would be more like, “ I shot this 29 point buck that was at least 500 lbs, and when I was tracking him a group of grizzlies tried to stop me, I was able to fight them off and got the gigantic buck. But as luck would have it, as I was field dressing the buck, 5 polar bears attacked me and I got scratched up pretty bad.”
what fred doesn’t know is that he has his game camera is set to upload on his work computer and the whole office saw the pack of turkeys whooping up on him
