Kalamazoo, Michigan Reptile Show Nov. 19th!
As Heath suggested, here's a thread started for this new show in Kalamazoo, Michigan on Saturday, November 19th. This is the first year for this show and it is a small show but hey any new reptile show in Michigan is a good thing (pitiful Martha impersonation!)

We are hoping to come with or without our herd of children. Hope to meet some of you there!

I certainly plan on going. I used to go to Western and i now live back home near Detroit. even though Taylor is 10 minutes away and Kzoo is 2 hours away, I want to support the new show in Kzoo.

put me down, its about 2hrs I think for us we need support for MI shows We should make a point to meet each other at this show, I didn't really meet anyone in person besides Alex Hue at the NARBC show.

I hate to say it's going to literally last minute whether we can make it or not...so many variables but I really do so want to be there if we can make it.
We are about 226 miles north of Kzoo so it's a darn long round trip for us but we'd love to go support these folks and their efforts to have a show like this.

Re: Kalamazoo, Michigan Reptile Show *Impressions
I posted this as new thread on other forums but here is my impression and what we saw:
Just wondering what everyone thought if anyone here got there today?
I knew it wouldn't be big but it was a start. It was kinda dissapointing as I know there some vendors who didn't show -no dissrespect intended. I wasn't expecting all the birds there that was something different. The door prizes where cool. Parking was an issue for some I heard but my wife and I where like an hour early so we had no problem...thanks for letting me use the restroom (Kari?)! I think having the food there was a big hit.
People I saw/talked to there where Shelly (Kiote9) helping a "friend" at a couple tables with some good looking animals. Also talked to Casey from Nature's Spirit a couple times. He seemed like a very good guy and didn't mind chit chatting about ball pythons with a "nobody" like myself. However...he would NOT give us our "100 free" crickets with what I understood come with the purchase of "any reptile". We even bought a box of 500 from him and my wife and I both had our purchases in hand at the time. The reason given was that neither of the two animals we purchased eat crickets. We told him we had dragons at home and the extra 100 would be put to good use but no dice. We didn't push the subject, I'm sure we got our money's worth with the 500 we bought and I wasn't about to argue with a possible new friend.
One thing my wife actually caught before me which hurried our "hanging out" time was mites on the rodents there. That kinda scared me and we didn't stay around much after that for fear we would carry some home. We did however purchase as I said. I snatched up another female ball python which weighed in at 142grams when we got home...had to fill that open spot on the BP rack My wife decided she needed a $10 "red belly" turtle... Which we may need help actually identifying the guy didn't seem to be certain and we got few details..."but he's cute!"
Overall I say congrats on a smooth running first show, I hope it was up to par that it may be able to continue. In the goal that someday soon I will be offering my own captive bred animals I fully support MI shows as much as I can.
