eye color

I was looking closely at Olaf's eyes today to see if he was going to shed, and I noticed that the green stripe on their head continues through on their eye! Up to pit is more of a brownish color and the rest is black. Does that mean that the black part is just one funny shaped pupil? Well, anyways, I thought that that was pretty cool.

Many snakes have a stripe that is on their skin that goes through the eye. It is there to camoflague the eye and to break up the outline. They can sneak up on prey and avoid predators easier that way.

It is pigment, not the pupil. If you shine a light (not too bright!) in the snake's eye, you can see the pupil contract.
