    A few questions

    1. What's up with my snake- I had a hide on the warm and cool side, and he'd usually stay on the warm side. But when he did, he wouldn't go in the hide. He'd just curl up right outside and stick his head toward the cool side (currently in a 10 gallon). I was assuming it was just that the hide wasn't dark enough or too big, so I switched to another hide. I'll see how he deals with this one. (sorry that wasn't much of a question, but it would be nice to see if guessing was right )
    2. I just rearranged his enclosure a bit and misted it for humidity and when I was putting him back in, he stuck his nose on a rock that was partially wet and then did the same to his hide. I she just drinking the droplets or is this another high-tech sort of recognition that snakes do?
    3. What kind of water sould I use (aged, dechlorrinated, just regular tap water, etc.)? He is currently using regular tap water without any trouble.

    Re: A few questions

1.) I suspect your guess was right, the hide was probably too big. That would be my guess.

    2.) No Idea, sorry.

3.) I use filtered water right out of the tap. Just a Brita pitcher. I don't know if that's required, but I give my dog and my snakes what I drink, cause I hate the crap out of the tap.

    Re: A few questions

They can be really picky about their hides sometimes. Also check the temp inside the warm hide. Sometimes depending on the type of hide it may be trapping a lot of heat and becoming too warm for the snake to want to use it.

It may have been getting some drops of water or just checking out what was going on in it's home. Mine tend to be very inquisitive about any changes I make and have to tongue flick everything to sort it out in their snakey brains.

We use tap water but we are in the country and have the nicest, cleanest water I've ever had the pleasure to drink myself.
