Hello again everyone!
I appreciate all the great advice you all have given me on Klaus since I brought him home almodst 4 weeks ago! He just completed his first shed last night and he looks beautiful!

His day to feed was Saturday but since he was about to shed he didn't eat for me so here is my question. I would love to pick him up but Saturday would have been his 3rd meal for me and I know I should wait until then before handling him. So, since he was in shed should I count that as a refused meal?? Should I try to feed him tonight now that his shed is done or should I wait until his usual day on Saturday to feed again?? Also do I need to start the process all over again for handling?? I really want to hold my boy and see his nice new colors. Here's a quick date guide just for reference.

5/9 - Brought home from breeder
5/11 - Ate sm Rat
5/18 - Med Rat
During this week his belly was pink and I did pick him up a few times to clean his tank and move some things around. On 5/22 he was in blue then went clear the next day.
5/25 - Refused
5/27 - Shed

I would just wait til Saturday to offer again. It certainly won't hurt.

How old is Klaus and how much does he weigh? Most makes never need anything larger than small rats.

As for handling, I wouldn't sweat this or count it as a refusal.

The general rule of thumb is 3 consecutive meals without refusal, but it's not set in stone. If you wanted to take him out for a few minutes to admire his fresh shed. You can also use the opportunity to check to make sure his eye caps, vent and tail all shed fully. Just keep it short and sweet and then hold off til after his next meal.

If any of my snakes refuse due to being in shed or just not interested I don't offer again until I feed the entire collection the following week. As far as handling him it should be fine as long as you keep it around 5-10 minutes at a time. This will be less stressful for him until he gets used to it.

The breeder/owner said when he got him in he was 2 years old so he's estimating somewhere around there. I don't have an accurate way to weigh him right now. The man at the shop said he was eating live med rats but the one he gave me was very small so I'm counting that as a small rat not a med but that is good to know, thank you
