looking to get a female soon have questions

its been a while since i've been on the site... my boyfriend and i just got a new tank (which is pretty big, a 40 gallon maybe) for Groper and we're thinking of getting a female... how would i go about introducing the new snake to him and would i need to keep her seperated from him for a while to make sure she's healthy?

You should never house snakes together. You need a separate tank. Snakes are solitary creatures and it is stressful for them to live together.

They may also eat each other, and if one gets sick, you can't tell which one it is, and the other may get sick too.

Quarantine her for a month and then you can introduce her to the other one. It's ok for them to be out of the cage together...if they like it. Some do and some don't, but just not housed together.
