    Shed Central

Lordy what a week and a half this has been! Out of the 5 female balls and 1 male boa we have everyone is either just finishing up a shed or with a pink belly or with blue eyes. Everyone is growing like weeds I guess LOL. Only little Rionach isn't in some form or another of the shed cycle this week.

    What a blast!

It must just be killing the kids, since they can't handle them. I'm sure little Rionach is getting a lot of love as a result.

Wow! I wonder if snakes are like women....spend a lot of time around with each other and we start to synchronize? Probably not, but just something that made me go hmmm?????

Anyway, it's like opening a new present after seeing the "new" Kashmire after each shed. His flames on his sides keep getting bigger and bigger, the spot on his head that's lighter than the rest of his head gets lighter, and the two blush spots on his back are getting lighter.

I love watching the subtle changes each shed! And I love how they look almost satiny immediately after a shed!

Let us know how the shed goes for your WC gal (previously known as Maude, I can't even attempt to spell her new name! LOL)

LMAO Robin, heck I have their names printed on a sticky....like I can remember how to spell those names on any given day!!!

Ri Ri is totally enjoying her status as sucky, spoiled snake this week while her "sisters" go through their sheds. Kyna is just done (as is Rauri the big boy) so they will get more handling again. That's the nice part of multiple snakes....always someone to handle LOL.

    Re: Shed Central

Orlah the big darling shed last night! Complete, unassisted and clean as a whistle!!!! What a beautiful female she was under all the cruddy old snakey skin!

Now we're down to crossing our fingers as Saoirse should be starting the actual shedding part tomorrow or Monday and we're praying that last stuck eyecap comes away clean.

Brannagh is so blue eyed it's not funny but still snarfing her prey down madly tonight. Hopefully her shed will go well too and we will finally be at the point of having all our females shedding nicely.

Oh, Jo, I am sooo very happy for you. I know you were so stressed about it. I am so glad Orlah is looking so beautiful. Will be waiting to hear about Saoirse, all my extremities are crossed!

    Re: Shed Central

Thanks everyone! Silly to be so flippin excited over a shed isn't it LOL, but it's like watching them finally being what they should have been....lovely, shiney and beautiful and feeling the satisfaction that you're doing right by them.

Still pacing off the days waiting for Saoirse to get that mess off herself but we've done all we can...her temps and humidity are perfect for a good shed. Now it's up to her to get as much off as she can w/o interference. Her good eye showed clear yesterday so it should be very soon.

Boy these critters teach patience by the bucketful LOL!

No kidding on the patience, Jo! It is fun to see their subtle changes after each shed. I hope her shed goes well!!!

    Re: Shed Central

Okay folks only you people will understand this LOL....Mike and I woke up this early Monday morning to find one perfectly shed snake with two count em TWO shiney eyes!!! Talk about two happy people (and one I'm sure very happy snake).

Saoirse shed overnight and it went beautifully! Everything came off and both her eyes are clear....FINALLY!

Thank you again Adam for counselling us to be patient and wait out this shed to see if that one bad eye would clear up. You were right, with good husbandry that last stuck cap did come off w/o us messing with it further!

What a wonderful morning this is! Our precious Saoirse finally has two clear eyes and not one icky stuck scale to be found!!!
