    Missing Scales?

I recently noticed that Noodle has some weird dents or missing scales on his neck. I think they only appeared after his shed What causes this and is this a sign of a more serious problem? Will the scales grow back?

There are a few more higher up on his neck too but this picture is a bit worse. I hope you can see them, they are between the two white key markings in the first curve of his neck.

It's nothing to worry about...just a few bent scales, not missing. They should normal out in the next shed, this is sometimes caused by the way the snake
was laying, or by something they rubbed against.

    Re: Missing Scales?

Thank you! I'm definitely an overly worried BP mom lol.

Checked on him again today and he has more bent scales in the same location now for some reason I wonder if he's having some wild adventures at night that result in bent scales.

You should definitely ask him...LOL. It's just a snake's version of a "bad hair day".

Try to imagine your arm covered in scales, & then you bend your elbow, so the scales get bent...that's what happens when
snakes curl up...some of their scales bend.
