Anyone have this problem?
I finally got my pastel male a few weeks ago, and he's settled in nicely so far. The only thing is he never uses his hides. He avoids them like the plague, lol. He'd rather sit curled up in a corner behind all the fake vines and greenery I have wrapping around the cage walls. I know the temperatures are fine, because I finally got myself a raytek temp gun a few months ago, and check the temps at least once a day, so I assume he just doesn't like hides. He eats fine, drinks fine, seems healthy as can be, but he just doesn't use hides. Only that one corner, lol. And I don't think it's just because of the fake greenery because I've moved that from the corner, yet he still uses that corner. Anyone else have this problem? What would you recommend to solve it?

Re: Anyone have this problem?
They're clay flower pot bottoms...low, snug, and small. He's 3 months old and around 300 grams or so. I've put him in the hides before, and they fit him snug, so I don't think the hides are the problem. I guess it's just his preferences or something.
Ooh, wait...what about scent. Would that affect it? Those hides were used by my female a year ago when she was a baby. I've washed the hides under water, but never gave them a big scrub or used a cleaner or anything. Could he be smelling another snake and shying away from them for that reason?
