using branches from outside and enclosure lighting
figured id put these into one post instead of making multiple.
so: i found these branches in my garage and i wanted to use them in my hognose enclosure, i tried taking as much of the bark/moss off as i could. i still have to bake them.
my next question: does anyone have any suggestions of a small (10” or shorter) cheap (~$20) light to use in the enclosure purely for day/night cycle? preferably LED but im open to anything. i was thinking of just buying LED strip lights and cutting them to length

About the lighting: you can always buy a bulb cage and just have the bulb fixture in the enclosure. And just have a daylight bulb or one of those energy saving ones.
In my opinion, that would look a lot better than strip lights.

You might want to check the 'big box' home improvement stores for "under (kitchen) counter" lights?

i was looking at those too, but i dont know if they’re bright enough? most of those are about 100lumens which is the equivalent to a flash light really
i was looking at the battery ones especially because less holes to drill ya feel? but i doubt the batteries would last long

Honestly, snakes don't light bright lights, nor do they need them for light cycle. Many people just put a light in so they can see better when they clean the cage
but it's not actually for the snake.
If the LED lights are battery powered, they should last a long time...LED's don't use as much powerl

yeah i know, also for viewing pleasure! it might not be too bad considering the enclosure is going to be white and reflective.
i know, but it only takes 3 AAA batteries, i had some tiny “fairy lights” and they only lasted 12 hours on 3 AA

You might look into rechargeable batteries too?

thatd be a good idea yeah, use some good velcro for the light, use them during the day, and charge them overnight
