Mithras Intro and progress

This is my husband's melanistic leonis kingsnake we picked up at the Reptile Expo on Nov 19th. Shes a sweetheart and loves to explore. She wasnt to happy to eat f/t but she did after just holding on to it for a while.

Incidentally I use beech chips for any black / dark coloured snakes as I detest the look , feel of Aspen .. plus aspen gets all over the house and carpets

I also always put some card down over the top of the substrate and feed on the card .. just to minimise the chance of ingesting some substrate..

Beech chips are smaller , neater bits than aspen ..
