    Do BP Sleep?

This might be a silly question to ask. But do BP sleep? If so do they sleep with their eyes open or closed? I be feeling like when I pick Mystic up sometimes he be sleeping. Lol

Or course they sleep. I'm pretty sure that all animals sleep, even sharks.

And of course they sleep with their eyes open, they don't have eye lids!

It's really hard to tell when snakes are sleeping or just motionless, especially on snakes like ball pythons. But in some snakes that have round pupils, you can actually
tell when they're sleeping as their pupils rest in the "6 o'clock" position until you wake them up. It's very helpful... but we're out of luck if they have elliptical pupils.

My snake is of an especially nervous disposition, so if he's out of his hide, holding very still, and I poke my head over his tub and he isn't a) flicking his tongue, or b) scooting himself back into his hide because he's noticed me, I assume he's asleep.

Curious if they sleep like dolphins where they shut off parts of their brain and then switch. Idk if they have done the research on snakes enough to know that.

    Re: Do BP Sleep?

Actually not all animals sleep. The term animal is just referring to a multicellular eukaryotic organism. I’m fairly sure that a sponge doesn’t sleep haha Although higher organisms with an actual developed brain instead of ganglia have to sleep to maintain normal function.
