heating help

i've had my BP for the past two years. about two months ago he got upgraded from a tub to a T8 with flexwatt on both sides, one side 90-92 degrees, and the other around 82. both connected to a herpstat 2. ambient temperature was 75-80. he was eating, shedding, pooping well etc.
recently the weather here has changed so fast. it was 60 degrees two weeks ago and yesterday it snowed for a bit.
the ambient temperature in his enclosure now is 68-70 degrees.
i have a heater in the room running (i usually do in the winter) but it is not helping much.
70 is way too low, right? should i get a radiant heat panel? i don't know how those work.
any help would be appreciated

A radiant heat emitter would work but is a bit of work to setup. Did you get the circle screen option? a CHE might work if you did. Otherwise an RHP or UTH pad(If the PVC is thin enough). GIve Pro-Mist a call for an RHP other than this I would say wait someone who has more experience in using an RHP could provide you an answer.

A RHP would probably work fine for you. If you had one you could probably unplug the cool side UTH and plug the RHP into the thermostat. I'm using an UTH for a hot spot and RHP for the ambient now and it's doing great.

An RHP will be your best bet. Use the second probe from your Herp2 to control it and ditch the cool side flexwatt. The RHP will do a much better job with ambient temps.

what wattage would i need?
and do you just screw it in? you need to drill a hole for the cord to go through right?
