    Question Yet another shedding question

    Hi all,

I have had Monty a little over two weeks now. Wednesday night I tried feeding him for the first time but he didn't eat. I noticed over the past 48 hrs he is holed up in his hide on the cool side of the cage and now his eyes are turning milky. I have the humidity in the cage up around 70%.

    My questions are:

    1) Is there anything else I need to do?

    2) When should I try to resume a normal feeding schedule?

    Any advise would be appreciated

    Thanks!

    Re: Yet another shedding question

The normal stuff: temps should be steady, a humid hide will help, misting him a little if he looks dry, and less handling. You will be able to tell when he's hungry again, but I usually wait until a day or two after the shed to feed again (depending upon how healthy the shed was).

If he seems to be having a hard time with the shed, uncomplete or bad shed, then put him in a damp pillowcase for an hour or so.

    Thanks!

I really haven't handled him since the first day because I wanted him to get acclimated to his new surroundings. I will definitely remember the pillowcase if the shed isn't going well.
