Our Females
Well since I still don't have a cam and can't actually show you pics of our pretty ladies I thought I'd at least let you know the sizes and weights as of last night. All are empty weights and the best lengths I could get with the old string method LOL. Also ages on these girls are somewhat estimated as none were from breeders.
Brannagh (02) - 3 feet, 11 inches - 1450 grams (3.2 lbs)
Saoirse (02) - 3 feet, 4 inches - 790 grams (1.7 lbs)
Orlah (03) - 3 feet, 6 inches - 1250 grams (2.7 lbs)
Kyna (03) - 3 feet, 3 inches - 750 grams (1.6 lbs)
Rionach (05) - 2 feet, 8 inches - 590 grams (1.3 lbs)
Saoirse (the WC non-eater we adopted) is slowly gaining weight and is up from 620 grams but still thin looking compared to the other females. She is accepting food from us so we will just continue to slowly help her rebuild her strength.
Kyna who was quite undersized when we got her in mid-July is growing like a bad weed! From July 15th to September 15th she grew 8 inches in length! When we got her at 18 months old she was almost identical in length and weight to our then 6 month old Rionach. It's nice to see Kyna now well ahead and continuing to grow well on her new feeding schedule.
All 5 are doing great and other than Brannagh and Saoirse are lovely and easy to handle. Amazing how different each female is though in looks (all are normals) and temperment. Very fascinating ladies!

Re: Our Females
Thanks Robin, we love em all!
Brann is such a brat LOL. On top of the attitude she also seems to get great satisfaction in daily destroying her lovely sterlite....tip the water dish, shovel aspen into the water dish, rip the Accu-Rite off the wall of her sterlite, shove her hides and bedding all over the place....Bran is just a brat LOL...but she has the best feeding response of the bunch of em so she must be happy enough I guess LOL. Can a snake have a Type A personality????
Miss S is letting us handle her a bit now though still nervous though such a sweetie, never a hiss nor a strike. We only hold her for a moment or two but she's starting to slowly accept that we aren't going to harm her and she's eating like a champ so we really feel we've turned a major corner with her. She's the one I worry over the most.
Orlah (the other pet store adult female) is just a love! I have no clue why her past owners dumped her at the pet store but I'm so glad they did! She's got the most gentle nature and a truely lovely chocolatey/mocha coloring. I can't wait to see her babies one day! She's a favorite with our kids as she is so calm and gentle when handled.
Kyna continues to be our silly snake. Thinks she's a tree snake and will climb anything in sight. Loves nosing around in Mikey's toys and the biggest busy body of the female group. Everything seems to be an adventure for Kee Kee and she's totally fearless (Kee doesn't get this whole "ball up" thing LOL).
Ri, the baby of the group and our first ball, is still the queen. Her nickname is Miss Priss and what Ri likes, Ri likes. If a snake can be a spoiled brat that would be her LOL. She's also the first out on feeding day, giving me the "where's my dang rat!" look everytime I pass her sterlite.
Geesh I babbled on....can you tell I'm deeply fascinated and totally in love with my ladies

LOL!! My Coastal, Widow, destroys her whole habitat daily! The same thing--Water dish filled with aspen and everything tipped over. What a Pain! She is great.

Re: Our Females
LOL Jim, glad to hear you have one like our Brann!
I sometimes wonder if in her basic lil snakey brain she's figuring "hmmm I'll mess up my tub, OCD lady will stick her hand in to fix it all up and I can get to play my FAV game!....Try to Nip The Owner!!!"

Re: Our Females
Yay for the ladies! I'm glad to hear that they are doing well. How has it been caring for 5 BP's aside from handling your grumpy girl?
BTW, we had our first SFE tag last feeding day. Our trinket snake informed my husband that he did not eat rat pinkies but did not wish him to remove the pinky with his hand either.

Re: Our Females
Thanks Vaughn, we're pretty happy with the ladies. Actually something I've been meaning to ask Adam or the forum. Would a male 05 be actually ready to breed next year's breeding season? I sure don't want to rush that beautiful male anymore than I would one of our females into breeding before the correct maturity.
Khara, we love taking care of all 5 of the girls and once you get into a routine it's hardly much work at all really. Heck my two cats were more work daily than these 5 balls (and the 1 BCI who does poop like a great dane but it's not daily thank the gods LOL). Brann the Brat was out today and actually did not attempt to strike...whoohoooo...small strides with our most stubborn girlie!
