Hi everyone!
Little disclaimer, I don't have a Mexican Black Kingsnake but am just researching at this point.
So I've heard that Kingsnakes in general tend to be a way more active species then say a ball python. So a bigger cage is probably needed or wanted in most cases.
So I'm thinking of getting a male, but from what I've gathered Kingsnakes don't really have a gender that gets bigger unlike other species.
So the cage sizes I was thinking were the following.
4' 2' 1'
3' 2' 1'
Or there's a higher version
4' 2' 15"
Any thought? I've read a lot of conflicting information on others threads so I was just curious what the general size for the cage recommendations are?
The cages regardless of size will be properly cluttered and suited to the nature of a MBK. I'm getting Animal Plastic Cages in the future so the sizes above are what is offered on that site.
I'm only interested in having a total of three snakes so the price and look of the AP isn't that big of an issue (after getting a summer job of course.)
So let's pretend that price doesn't matter, but of course the well being of the snake does. I figure if I'm going to have a snake for the next 20-30 years I might as well spend the extra cash and get a good lasting and spacious cage.
Let me know what you think
