Ambient temp help..little confused.

So, right now my ambient temp within my snakes enclosure is 75.2 degrees farenheit. He's eating
,drinking,hiding and doing everything a snake would (even switches go the cold side when he's finished with the warm. I have checked him over and he is as healthy as can be (scales are shiny no excess saliva or weezing or other urine symptoms) What I need help with, is getting the ambient temp up higher or do I not need to worry?

Almost forgot to mention the humidity is good. It sits at about 60.

How are you keeping his warm side warm?
What are you measuring temps with?
Is it a tank, tub, or other type of enclosure?
Do you have a thermostat?
Is there any substrate or is it paper towels / newspaper?

Need just a bit more info to help. 75 is a bit low in my opinion - I keep my ambient around 80*F +/- a degree. Esp being in Utah, I imagine your house is cool in the winter so this isn't something you want to wait on.

He has paper towels, i use a tub, I have a digital thermometer, and an analog hygrometer, I do use a thermostat AND the warm side has a heating pad which s programmed to be at 90. I live in apartment and it gets pretty warm inside the apartment. But i am still worried. Should i get another heat mat and thermostat to program it at 80?

Heat mats don't really do much for ambient temps from what I understand - getting a second and setting it at 80 may only raise your ambient to 76-77 if your lucky. My appartment stays at 68 in the winter - so I have to use two CHE's on thermostats since I don't use heat mats or tape. You'll need to get the temperatures in that area up. Some people use a space heater (not an oil one or gas-based since you don't want carbon monoxide in your house), and I've read where others hand a heat lamp over the tub - not close enough to melt the plastic and it will need to be watched closely so you don't get the ambient too hot.

Hopefully someone with Tub experience will get on and help more.

I have heard that insulating a tub might help. Do you think that would be worth a try? As you can tell i am pretty worried about this

The cheap, easy, safest way is another heat mat for cool side set to 80.
That is how I kept Burmese Pythons back in the 90’s because we didn’t have the fancy stuff we have now.
I use PVC enclosures and RHP’s now days, but what your doing will work. Also cover 3 sides of that glass tank so he feels secure and it helps insulate.

Ok awesome. Thanks. I did not think to cover the three sides. But now I know. I did get another heat mat, it should be arriving today. Managed to find another person's post on here with the same issue. It didn't mention covering the sides though. He does have two hides, but as a just in case I'll cover 3 of the sides.
