Super glue Probes?

So yeah, my snakes keep pushing the probes out from under the substrate came home to find my UTH going 105.5F and had a heart attack. So my question is would superglue be safe once it dries? Any glue chemicals I should look out for?

Or I have seen some people glue the thermostat probes to the underside of the tank is this a viable option?

The probe is supposed to be outside the enclosure, attached to the heat mat.

This is why your thermostat probe should be sandwiched between the UTH and the terrarium, NOT inside.

Well, now I feel like an idiot...I will blame it on the fact that jumpstarts aren't made for reptiles...

and I guess the fact that I did not research it... I knew thermostats and probes but always figured they needed to be under the substrate or it would interfere with the heat mats ability to heat up... No idea why.

As a side note for use with rhp or che, you can also use a low temp hot glue gun to stick the probe to the side of the cage. For my plastic cages, I have a small plastic strap that holds the probe and is screwed into the wall of the cage.

For right now anyway, as I am slowly going to AP with pro-mist RHP's I used a crap ton of Electrical tape to stick the temp probe under the enclosure completely encasing the probe so that the heat gets trapped and get an accurate measure. The tape should hold despite the heat emitted due to being electrical tape. But I will be monitoring every day to check for any slack build up.

Don’t put tape over the probe. Just over the wire. It’ll still read accurately

Don't feel bad. There's bit of a learning curve. Heck I was following directions from a pet store pamphlet and equipment instructions. I had stuff all out of wack. I like how the "UTH" instructions say specifically to not put under the tank, and there was no mention of a thermostat. I'm just glad everyone here is so willing to teach us noobs.
