Hide size and BP comfort, its a thing

I thought my girl would be super chill with whatever changes I decide to make with her enclosure, she's certainly chill with everything else...but.... nope.

I decided that I needed to upgrade one of Rei's hides, well I tried and she tried it out for a couple days, and then decided she doesn't like I guess.
Its on her hot side but I have yet to see her use it, day after day. Temps are fine, humidity is fine, thermostat regulated UTH and she just took a meal for me yesterday, still refuses to use that hide. Its probably too big, she fills maybe a 1/3 of it, which I can tell now that its too big. Didn't look at way at the store.

She definitely still uses her half log on her cool-side, which she fits into and is quite snug. I have that one set up so that one end is covered by substrate/fake plants so it doesn't feel like there is two openings.

My idea of upgrading her was so she could kinda have a larger hide to use for awhile, but I think I went too big.

I did finally get some sense into me and I've ordered 2 medium RBI hides for her, might as well replace her half log as well and stop wasting so much money on these pet-store hides that are not giving my BP 100% comfort and security, they are also heavy and really a pain to clean and move around. I ain't got time for that.
I'll achieve the natural look with plants and substrate, but hides, I will never go for the inadequate and expensive pet store variety again. Besides, if I ever want to have a larger collection I have to economize and make some changes that will only make my snake-keeping easier for me in the long-run. Besides, $5/hide as opposed to $20+ for the same size in a pet store. You really can't beat that.

Don't joke about those hides, they really are essential to a BP's comfort and well-being.
