    New snake nerves

Hey! So, my new baby hognose is coming in two days (the 29th), and... I don't know what I'm feeling.
I mean, I'm definitely excited! And I know I'm prepared for her. Is it nervousness? Not guilt, I know all of my other animals are well taken care of and I'm ready for the hognose. I know she's gonna be ok, breeder said she's eating great and is very healthy! Her qt tank is completely ready for her, I just don't know why I get this weird feeling whenever I think about it. Has this ever happened to any of you guys when getting a new animal? Thanks

It sounds to me like you care deep down about taking on this new responsibility (a new "dependent" ) so from where I sit, it's a good thing!

I think I've mostly felt excitement about new acquisitions, but I'll admit that I've had so many over the years that perhaps I felt the same way as you,
    back in the beginning?

    Re: New snake nerves

I get a little anxious when I'm waiting for a new critter too. First and foremost I want it to arrive safe and sound. After that no mites or other illnesses. Once those things check out after QT. I breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy the new addition. So far I'm batting a thousand.

I've never had an animal shipped, so can't speak first hand. But I can imagine my anxiety would have me bouncing off the walls, hahahaha

Yeah, I hate air shipping them too, even though "most of the time" all goes well.
