    New Garter Snake

Well sorta, anyway... he’s currently making his home in my front yard. I saved him from the dogs this evening. He got a couple good swipes at my malamute before I could get her away from him, but by that point he was frozen in terror. I was able to pick him up with no striking and released him into the cornfield across the street.

He’s probably been dining well on all the toads out here... at least his belly was round and full lol

Hope the feisty little booger stays safe!

Sometimes find a garter snake in my yard too, or a turtle, or most often a toad. Love them all, & my dogs may sniff but aren't too interested, thankfully.
