    Angry Ugggh mites

Glad I don't have a large collection and that I just got these snakes. Shame on the previous owners for failing to inform me. I just sent a text to them about it, and to let them know to check the rest of their collection. Time for some baths and permethrin. I definitely didn't miss this part of getting new snakes the last 8 years.

My condolences. If they cared about their snakes, they'd have known. You have to assume they do NOT care, which means they dumped on you (& on their snakes).
NOT cool...I'll be surprised if they respond to your text.

After baths and reptile spray treatment, looks like only the kingpin had them. Treated everyone though and sprayed all spare tubs.

She had 3 on her neck I couldn't get to, but hopefully in a few days when I retreat they will have died, I'll keep treating until they're gone.

I only ever had one other mite issue, and it was quick and painless, hopefully this follows suit.

It shouldnt be too bad, i hope, since you caught it early. Is there any way to seperate the poor thing from the others in case it is the only unhealthy one?

Man, I would have blasted the breeder who sent me a mite infested snake. There is no acceptable reason for it. Especially since i have 9 snakes and little ones too like Pat which i would be worried about using PAM on such a little baby. The biggest issue is mites can pass on IBD which is the biggest worry to me.

No permethrin, my local vets won't give any to me without a visit, so I ordered it online, but the reptile spray did a good job and so did the dawn bath.

Only a couple drops of dawn and warm water do a good job. Wipe down with wet paper towel, then after the bath wipe down with the reptile spray before putting back into a clean treated tub.

Sad thing is they weren't sent, I met them a couple hours away. Checked out the first 2 snakes and they both looked good, and got in a hurry to make my ferry to get back home and didn't check over the kingpin very thoroughly.
