    Both snakes not eating....

    Oh for the love....

my my son is freaking out that Odyn is not eating lol. He just hit "adult hood" and we upgraded his enclosure size on the 12th so I get it. And I still need to cover the screen too so his humidity is off. Could that really affect his not eating in two weeks?

Boop is also not eating. Her enclosure has not changed at all. She just hit 1 kg so I'm assuming she is also normal? I'm trying not to freak out since Emory is kinda freaking....especially since Odyn started out not eating and took off, never refused a meal and was always chill and eager to eat.

So darn it all.....freak out commencing soon.....

    any ideas, calming words, anything?

Pretty normal. My BP hasnt eaten since Jan. Still fine and hasnt lost weight. She always skips from around Oct/Nov to Apr/May although this last run, she ate until beginning of Jan so i expect she will probably start eating in June or so.....or whenever she wants lol. The boas are happy to take her refusals.

Also when i got her as a 90g 12 inch worm, she ate every 3 days like clockwork and would stand up like a cobra looking for food. As long as the BP isnt losing weight or looking out of the ordinary, i wouldnt worry. BPs will be BPs.

With all the changes in Odyn's enclosure and such, as you said, its not much of a surprise that he isnt eating. Probably a little stressed out, once he relaxes a bit I would believe that he would be ok. As with boop, we all know BPs just sorta...dont wanna eat now and again. Just keep an eye on her weight and she should be good.

    Re: Both snakes not eating....

Today was feed day here, 4 out of 12 refused but 2 of those 4 are in shed so I understand for them. The crazy thing is, my Mystic Potion girl that gained weight soooo fast as detailed in my Thread called "The Wall" refused for the first time ever. Piglet gladly took her cast off rat on top of his. Almost every week I have between 1 and 3 that refuse for one reason or another, usually due to sheds even if I cant see them dulling out and going opaque yet.

We upgrade our pastel banana boy from a 24"x18"x12" ExoTerra to a 2'x3'x12" RBI and he didn't eat for a solid month. We assumed that he was uncomfortable with his new home, so we added lots of clutter. Mostly fake leaves from our local craft store. Finally, this weekend he ate.

I share your pain. Even knowing that it's "normal" doesn't relieve our stress when they start skipping meals.

I wouldn’t give it to much worry. Only three outta five are eating for me as of tonight. Lol, feeding as I type. My biggest hasn’t eat since December, and another since February. 1600 grams and 1100 grams respectively. I keep through records and this appears to be par for course. Hope this helps.

"Normal" for BPs... If you want snakes that actually eat, you might enjoy rat snakes....I sure do.

No problem and you just need to pick up a boa or two so you can have a couple garbage disposals for when the BPs decide they are going to make life difficult and go on a fast haha.
